"Stewart's show, illustrates the careful crafting he's put in place to layer and intertwine a range of jokes that'll take you by surprise... Clearly a very technically skilled comedian, Stewart’s misdirects abound as he presents topics with introductory gambits that change direction seemingly without effort—his stories are warped subtly and cleverly, arriving at unexpected conclusions with great effect." Gutter Culture
"His subtle deconstruction of comedy cliches, coupled with his shrewd dissection of karma, matched two critical criteria of an up-and-coming comedian –potential and originality." Sydney Morning Herald
"Unassuming and a touch more dry than "pretty" dry -Matt Stewart is one humdinger of a comedian." Weekend Notes
"Matt Stewart is bone dry in every sense of the phrase; deliberately monotone, creatively restrained, and gut-bustingly funny. There are few comics in Australia that the kind of innate sense for laughs that Matt Stewart has. On the dartboard of comedy, he’s a straight-up 180." Pedestrian
"One of the most purely funny comedians in Melbourne, Matt Stewart’s trademark bone-dry delivery belies a brain for comedy with few rivals." Pedestrian
